The coolest ride on Earth has got some scorching new specs. The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S packs a 3.8-liter turbocharged direct-injected jet-like engine that will very nearly reach 200 mph, with the first 60 in a stomach-churning 2.9 seconds. It boasts 560 hp, a 7-speed PDK double-clutch automatic transmission and all-new all-wheel drive. Inside, there's a regal black and Carrera red color scheme, 18-way Sport Seats Plus and Bose sound system rivalled only by the engines glorious roar.

A thundering, rip-roaring animal, the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 houses a 7-liter LS7 V8 engine with 500HP and 470Lb-ft of torque. The intake valve and connecting rods are forged from titanium and the 6-speed manual transmission features close-ratio gearing for optimum power. It looks so magnificent that it's the kind of car Hollywood would choose to turn into a cool robot for a blockbuster science-fiction movie. Oh wait, they did.

An automobile built for the racetrack with looks to match. The 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT boasts a fine tuned 5-liter supercharged V8 engine that will generate 550hp and 502 pound-feet of torque. Features include carbon ceramic brakes, a stupendous rear wing, ventilated hood, active exhaust and Pirelli Corsa tires. If you see this in your rear view mirror on the freeway, move over fast.

The ultimate sports sedan has had a "green" makeover, with the 2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid. Enjoy the perks of a Porsche with your eco-conscious in tact, for this boasts a 95hp electric motor with a range of 20 miles and a top speed of 84 miles per hour. When that runs dry, switch to the 3-liter twin turbo V6 that will do 167 mph, the first 60 in just over five seconds. That bit's not so green, though.

Another classy number from the German motoring giants. The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG boasts a 2 liter turbo charged engine capable of generating 360 hp that will do nought to 60 in 4.5 seconds, tailing off at 155 mph. A sporty five door hatchback, it incorporates the A-Class' suspension and steering systems and funky black wheels with contrasting red brake calipers. Kudos Mercedes. Again.

This US icon just got more, well, iconic. Under the undulating hood of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is a V8 6.2 liter engine capable of generating 450 hp and will get you up to 60 mph in less than four seconds. The aluminium frame and carbon fiber hood equals less weight and more speed and it's one of the finest looking automobiles that they've ever produced, in our humble opinion.

An absolute stunner of a car. Beneath the hood of the 2014 Jaguar F-Type S there's a 3 liter V6 Supercharged engine that generates 380 horse power that will fire you up to 60mph in 4.8 seconds. It boasts a keyless entry and start system, 19 inch propeller wheels, sport suspension with adaptive dynamics, active sport exhaust and the Jaguar high performance braking system with black calipers and is one of the most beautiful things we've ever seen.

Buckle up, there's a new Porsche on the horizon. The 2014 Porsche Cayman will be available in two models, the standard will boast a 2.7 liter boxer-six 275 hp engine and the Cayman S a 3.4 liter boxer-six capable of generating a whopping 325 hp. Six speed manual transmission is standard and the S will make 60 mph in just shy of four and a half seconds. And of course, as always, it's a beautiful looking muscular beast of a car.

Basically, it looks like it should fly and with the pedal to the floor, it's sure to feel as though it does. The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series' stats are a mouth-watering read, 622 hp and a maximum speed of 196 mph, the first 60 of which will be reached in three and half seconds. Looks like it's just spoiling for a fight, too.

This beautiful machine, the fruits of a joint venture between motoring giants Subaru and Toyota, is quite rightly the cocky new car on the automotive block. Rear wheel drive, available in manual or automatic, with paddle shift, the 2013 Scion FR-S packs a 2 liter 4 cylinder engine, 151 pounds per feet of torque and 200 hp that will reach 60 mph in a touch over 6 seconds. Inside it has a top-end Pioneer sound system, Bluetooth and USB. Oh, and it drives like an absolute dream, too.
